A record-breaking crowd of more than 26,000 packaging and processing professionals gathered in Las Vegas for PACK EXPO 2011 — the largest packaging and processing show in North America this year.

Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), the owner and producer of PACK EXPO, said it was the most dynamic show they've produced in Las Vegas. More than 1,550 exhibitors and suppliers showcased powerful integrated processing and packaging innovations for more than 40 vertical markets, including food, beverage, confectionary, pharmaceutical, and baking and snack. Rockwell Automation and many of its Machine Builder Partners in the Rockwell Automation® PartnerNetwork™ exhibited at the show.

Rockwell Automation demonstrated the latest scalable, multidisciplined control and information technology to help machine builders lower their Total Cost to Design, Develop and Deliver℠ packaging machinery. Featuring new, cost-effective control for small, standalone machine applications, the Rockwell Automation controller portfolio scales from 12 to 10,000 I/O, allowing machine builders to mirror each manufacturer's needs at any given time. The Rockwell Automation booth featured several new control and information solutions to fit each machine's unique needs, including:

Visitors to the Rockwell Automation booth learned about the Mechatronics design portfolio, which helps machine builders combine mechanical and electrical engineering to achieve greater innovation, more optimized performance, faster time to market and reduced business risk. The Mechatronics portfolio includes Motion Analyzer software to help minimize design risk and speed time-to-market by providing tools that analyze design alternatives for motion control applications. Motion Analyzer links 3D mechanical design in Solidworks 3D CAD to a control program in RSLogix 5000.
